![]() If the Voltage at D1 is still not 13V when connecting 3V to pin 4 or there is >2V at pin 4 then replace the chip with an On semi FAN5331. This brings the 3.3V input to the /SHDN pin turning on the charge pump. The fix is to add a 10k, 0805 resistor at R3. One of my bad displays also had this problem. If display comes on then the 'enable display' from the SSD1305 controller is bad. If pin 4 is less than 2V try connecting 3.3V to pin 4/R8. If not then measure pin 4 of the IC (also connected to the 100k resistor R8). This can be used as the First test to see if there is a charge pump problem. Of course another option is applying 12-13V directly to the Diode as I post above. There could be either problem or Both problems. The little 5 pin IC is the charge pump chip. Good lighting and a magnifier are necessary. Attempt ONLY if your soldering skills are good enough to tackle these small parts. ![]() This also requires soldering Small Parts. Most issues when first trying one of these display is jumpers, connections or code. I recommend trying this ONLY IF the display and Software originally worked then the display stopped working WITHOUT any hardware or software changes Here are some troubleshooting and repair tips. IMG_9999 (Medium).JPG (158 KiB) Viewed 269 timesīoth Displays are now repaired and working. This will take some time the re-write code with a debug output. If registers can be read back then the SDD1305 chip is correctly powered and working. ![]() so the Display On command seems to have taken, the Boost chip enabled but No Boost Voltage which should be ~13V per the data sheet.Īnother Test I will try is Reading Back registers from the SD1305. This should start with the 'Display ON' command if I read the data sheet correctly.Ĭ17 is 3.13V, C16 is 2.89V, C12 is 2.49V.Ĭathode od D1 is 3.13V but pin 4 of the Boost chip, U is 2.98V which is typically the /SHDN pin. The output of the Boost convert, at cathode of D1 is 3.2V, same as input Voltage so it looks like the boost converter is NOT running. What Voltage should be measured across the three Tantalum caps (yellow with orange bar), C16, C17 & C12. In this photo of the bottom of the display board: It seems the Voltage Boost is not functioning but this seems a symptom not the cause. Next to research details of how the circuits on these displays work. ed#p264767Īll have similar issue: OLED working fine then simply STOPS working. So onto this forum and searched for OLED died and found several threads. Nothing wrong with PIC code or anything else.Ĭhalked it up to MAYBE I did something wrong and moved on.Ī few weeks later, the second display again simply did not turn on!!!!!! Again about 10-15 hours of use. I spent a few hours re-checking everything, soldering, PIC processor code, etc.įinally remember I bought a second display so soldered on the heard, plugged in onto the PIC display board and it worked. Since I liked this display I purchased a second one on, invoice #2210143.Īfter 10-15 hours of use it simply FAILED to turn on. The first display was purchased on, Invoice #2188017 and worked very well. This is the best time to blow the dust off your favourite music players. The second 2.4" 128圆4 OLED display, pn2719 has DIED without cause. All music formats are supported, including FLAC, APE.
